Representatives of the Government and Civil Society Have Discussed the Public Administration Reform Agenda
The Democracy Development Foundation is continuing its exclusive mission of uniting Armenia’s civil society organizations and coordinating their activities and efforts aimed at public reforms.
On November 9 the Democracy Development Foundation hosted a discussion on the topic of Public administration reforms (PAR) with representatives of the Republic of Armenia government and partner civil society organizations.
Viktoria Aydinyan, advisor to the Vice Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, Anzhela Kzhdryan, office of the Prime Minister, coordinator of the “Strategic Communication and Participatory Governance” domains in the PAR, and Lilya Afrikyan, office of the Prime Minister, coordinator of the “Open Governance Partnership-Armenia” initiative, participated in the discussion to present the main directions of the public administration reforms and the national strategy setting them forth.
During the meeting civil society representatives presented their observations and questions to the government representatives. The possibilities of cooperation between the government and civil society around the reform agenda were discussed.
Armenia needs public administration reforms encompassing the interests and well-being of society. An adequate and practical involvement of civil society will improve the efficiency of public services and strengthen the overall democratic culture in Armenia.
