The Project on “Social Justice and Ethical Norms in Schools” is Launched
The Democracy Development Foundation and the Education and Solidarity Trade Union are implementing a project on “Social Justice and Ethical Norms in Schools” supported by the Embassy of Estonia in Armenia.
The goal of the project is to examine ethical issues in the schools from the social justice perspective and to promote the application of appropriate integrity norms in general schools. In the scope of the project we have recently hosted in Armenia professors Margit Sutrop and Halliki Harro-Loit, experts of Center for Ethics from the University of Tartu.
During a three-day visit the Estonian experts visited “Mkhitar Sebastatsi” Educational Complex and the high school number 115 in Yerevan, talked to faculty and students, had a working discussion in the Republic of Armenia Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.
At the Democracy Development Foundation Margit Sutrop and Halliki Harro-Loit met and had discussions with educational sector beneficiaries and expert groups presenting the Estonian successful experience in guaranteeing social justice in education.
The experts were also hosted by the TV show “Aravot Luso” (Good Morning) of the First Channel (Public TV of Armenia).
The “Social Justice and Ethical Norms in Schools” project will produce video clips for pedagogues about practical and effective application of social justice principles.
