“Iravunk” a new game for education and entertainment

Interesting leisure plus new knowledge. The Public Journalism Club and Democracy Development Foundation present a new product, the intellectual board game “Iravunk”. The development of the game was implemented with “The Game”.

The game is designed for future lawyers, as well as journalists covering the legal field, educators and citizens interested in legal field.

“There is a need to present complicated topics in an easy and gamified format”, says Seda Muradyan, the head of the Public Journalism Club, adding that it is much easier to remember information and new knowledge obtained through a game.

“We are sure that this game will become as popular as our “MediaGitak”.

“With its interactive format, the game helps to explore complex legal concepts and situations, which will stimulate interesting conversations about justice. Justice sector reforms involve more than system changes: it is also about shaping the public perception of justice. The game will help to shape those perceptions and make the public a participant in the reform agenda”,says Naira Sultanyan, director of the Democracy Development Foundation.

You can play «Iravunk” individually and in a team. It consists of six sections, with the following topics: human rights, judicial system, legislative and executive bodies, democratic approaches, fight against corruption, local and international human rights bodies and structures. Moreover, the game presents situations from court proceeding, where the players have to guess the correct judgement.

The intellectual board game “Iravunk” was created within the framework of the Integrity Justice Reforms project, which is implemented by a consortium led by the Democracy Development Foundation, whose members are the Public Journalism Club, Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly-Vanadzor and Protection of Rights without Borders NGO.

The purpose of the project is to increase public awareness of the institutional reforms in the justice sector that are currently being implemented in Armenia. It also encompasses activities that are aimed at improving the communication capacities of civil society regarding the mentioned issues.
