With Support of the Embassy of France, DDF Launches “Solidarity for Human Rights and Democracy” Project
With the support of the Embassy of France in Armenia, the Democracy Development Foundation, along with two partner non-governmental organizations, is implementing the “Solidarity for Human Rights and Democracy” project.
The project aims to provide opportunities for open and effective dialogue and cooperation between Russian and Ukrainian journalists, human rights activists, and civil society representatives residing in Armenia.
To achieve this, the NGO “Union of Informed Citizens” is monitoring information flows and verifying facts through the fact-checking platform (fip.am), with a focus on harmful discourses targeting these two communities living in Armenia.
As part of another component of the project, Aliq Media has provided a platform for journalists relocated to Armenia from Russia and Ukraine to cover topics related to the South Caucasus for Russian-speaking audiences and counter disinformation with fact-based media content.
The Democracy Development Foundation will regularly organize events to facilitate interaction between the project’s beneficiary communities and their Armenian counterparts.
